Following on from yesterday's post about Danish Interiors, first on my list is DAY Birger et Mikkelsen, one of the first Danish brands to really make its mark on the international fashion scene.
This innovative Danish brand was created in 1997 by Keld Mikkelsen and Malene Birger with the sole aim of creating exquisite design. Using the inspiration of the ethnic cultures of Asia as a starting point, the label infuses each piece with the sumptuous feel of vintage glamor and playful personality. They are easy-to-wear but supremely feminine pieces, which come alive with sprinklings of embellishment. This bohemian yet modern approach to Scandinavian simplicity has heavily influenced their home collection.
Although their clothing can be found in many stores throughout the UK their interior stuff is a little harder to find. So, it will be a real treat visiting their flagship store.
Check out my Copenhagen Interior shops map for location.
All week I will be posting some more of my favourite Danish brands.
Have a sweet day!
