Last year I made an Easter tree and hung handmade felt birds on it, as seen in the first pic. In my search to show you some other great Easter trees I found out that the concept originated in Germany. "Osterbaum", the German name for Easter trees, are usually made out of the cut branches of pussy willow or other flowering bushes which are brought into the house and placed in vases. They are then decorated with hand painted wooden eggs, or hollowed out real eggs.

Also, the small living trees and bushes that are already planted around the outside of the house are often decorated with plastic, wooden or real painted eggs and wreaths. How fantastic!

Have a sweet day!

  3. Oooh! Oooh! I LOVE-LOVE Easter! And these Easter trees are wonderful. . . I'm seeing another distraction from my current quilting project.

I'm afraid I let my brother-in-law's cranky wife rather influence me in the way I decorate. . . she had made the comment that 'Robin has SO MUCH (ugh!) stuuuuuffff.' I'm a decorator, this is what I do. I collect glassware - that's used. And knick-knacks that are tactfully decorated with - not just set around. Besides - her house? Yeah. No decorating. And many others have discounted her criticism. . . so why does it stick?

You've given me some inspiration to take it up a notch. I celebrate Easter like many celebrate Christmas. It's a time to deck the halls, invite all the family, cook fabulous food, and enjoy-enjoy-enjoy.

Thanks for the beautiful ideas & your lovely compliment on my jewelry and Easter cards.

Have a simply lovely day ~
